Luxury Down Comforters on Sale

by admin on December 21, 2009

As you know, I’m looking online for the best down comforters for the money.  It’s not that I’m unwilling to pay a few hundred dollars for a good comforter, I just want the best overall value so I can sleep easy with my spending and on my back.

The first comforter I reviewed was the 900 Fill Power Batiste European White Goose Down Comforter from CuddleDown.com. The price range is broad depending on whether you get the twin (smallest size) or oversized king. The price starts at $527 and ends at $1119. It has a 350 thread count and is super lightweight. This is made in the USA and the duck and geese feathers undergo a thorough sterilization process that results in a quality hypoallergenic product.

Target sells the very highly rated Oversized Year-Round White Goose Down Comforter for $169.99. The Year-Round uses 300-thread count and got 4.5 stars out of 5 from buyers. The duvet covers are a bit smaller because it is over sized. The baffle box construction keeps the feathers pretty evenly distributed. It’s almost cloud-like because it is so fluffy and ruffly which you’re going to love in the cold winter months because it’s also very warm.  Find the perfect down pillows to go with this.

Ideally, this also keeps you cool in the summer, but it sounds like this may take you out of your comfort zone in the warmer months. This comforter may have been nearly a 5-star rating but people that hadn’t bought it yet were giving reviews with 4 stars for some unknown reason. A tremendous value here and one to keep in mind if you have a lower budget on bedding.

Buyers loved the 260 Thread Count Down Alternative Comforter made by LCM Home Fashions at Amazon.com. Although this isn’t truly made of down I felt as if I should talk about it briefly since it was inexpensive and so many people liked it. Thin, lightweight, and warm are the best three words I can use to describe this comforters down. $159.99 and washes well.

DownOutlet.com sells “The Willow” for $119 for a Twin and $179 for King. Just in case you need them I want to add-in the standard measurements:

Twin – 68″ x 88″
Queen – 88″ x 98″
King – 107″ x 98″

The Willow is 525+ white European down fill and is a midweight comforter. It uses 260 count thread and basically feels like two wool blankets. You won’t be struggling for covers with this on the bed, it is indeed oversized to keep heat in and keep you nice and toasty.
